Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 September 2026

ToolsNest is operated by Tigmon Apps. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the site. The short version: the tools do their work inside your own browser, and the files you open are not uploaded to us.

The short version

  • Files you open in our tools — PDFs, images, JSON, text — are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded to, stored on, or seen by our servers.
  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, address or phone number.
  • Your settings, saved scores and tool preferences are stored on your own device, not on our servers.
  • We use analytics and advertising services that set cookies and collect usage data. Those are described in detail below.

Information processed in your browser only

Most of what ToolsNest does never leaves your device. When you merge a PDF, resize an image, format JSON, or play one of our games, the work is done by JavaScript running in your browser. The file never travels to us, so we cannot read it, store it, or hand it to anyone else.

This is a technical property of how the site is built, not just a promise. It also means large files are limited by your device's memory rather than by an upload limit.

Information stored on your device

We use your browser's local storage to remember things that make the site usable across visits. This data stays on your device, is readable only by this site, and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

  • Your theme preference (light or dark).
  • Game progress: best scores, unlocked levels, daily-challenge streaks.
  • Tool preferences, such as a chosen unit or output format.
  • For File Share, a randomly generated device identifier and display name used to pair devices.

File Share

File Share transfers files directly between two devices using WebRTC. The file contents travel peer-to-peer and are never uploaded to our hosting.

To let two devices find each other, our server briefly handles a small amount of connection data: a room code, the WebRTC connection descriptions (SDP and ICE candidates), a device display name, and a short-lived value derived from your network address that is used to group devices that appear to share a network. This signalling data is temporary and expires automatically. It does not include any part of the file being sent.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are used and where the site is slow or broken. This tells us which pages are visited, roughly where in the world visitors are, and which browser and device type they use. It is aggregate and statistical — we do not use it to identify individuals.

Analytics is only loaded on the website. It is not used to build advertising profiles by us.

Advertising

The website is supported by advertising. We work with Google AdSense on the web, and Google AdMob inside our mobile apps. These services may set cookies or use device identifiers to measure and, where you consent, personalise the ads you see.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can control personalised advertising in your Google Ads settings, and in your device's privacy settings on mobile.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

Who else is involved

  • Hostinger — hosts the website and serves its files.
  • Google AdSense and Google AdMob — advertising.
  • Google Analytics — usage measurement.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play — distribute our mobile apps and provide their own install and crash statistics.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data held about you, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not run accounts and do not store your files, in most cases we hold no personal data about you at all — but you can contact us and we will help.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information in the way that term is used under the CCPA/CPRA, beyond the advertising cookie behaviour described above, which you can opt out of through the consent controls and your Google Ads settings.

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we have handled your data improperly, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

ToolsNest is a general-audience site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the date at the top when we do. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
