About Passport Photo Maker
Upload a photo, line the head up with the on-screen guides, and download a print-ready passport or ID photo at the exact millimetre size and resolution your passport, visa or form requires — with an optional sheet to print several at once.
Every passport and visa has its own photo spec — India and most of the world use 35 × 45 mm, the US uses 2 × 2 inches, Canada 50 × 70 mm — and getting the size or head position wrong is the usual reason a photo is rejected. Pick your document from the list and the crop frame switches to the right shape, with guide lines for where the crown of the head and the chin should sit. Drag and zoom the photo until the head fits between them.
The finished photo is exported at 300 DPI (the print standard) at the exact pixel size for the millimetre spec — for example 413 × 531 px for a 35 × 45 mm photo. Build a print sheet and it tiles as many copies as fit onto 4 × 6 photo paper or an A4 page, with faint cut marks, as a PDF that prints at true size.
Everything happens in your browser: the photo is read from your device, cropped and resized locally, and never uploaded. There is no account and no watermark. The tool does not replace the background — for a compliant photo, take the picture facing a plain, evenly lit light-coloured wall; the optional “brighten background” step can then lift a pale wall closer to white.
What you can use it for
- Crop a phone selfie to the exact 35 × 45 mm size for a passport or visa application.
- Make a US 2 × 2 inch photo for a passport or green card.
- Prepare a photo for an exam or job portal, then resize the file to its KB limit with the Image Resizer.
- Print a sheet of 6–8 passport photos at a photo shop instead of paying per photo.
- Get a correctly sized ID photo for a driving licence or student card.
How it works, step by step
- 1

Select your passport, visa or form from the list — or set a custom size in millimetres and DPI.
- 3
Position the head
Drag and zoom so the top of the head sits on the upper guide line and the chin on the lower one.
- 4
Generate and download
Download the single photo, and optionally build a print sheet PDF for 4×6 or A4 paper.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is cropped and resized in your browser using the canvas. It is never uploaded, stored or logged.
What size is a passport photo?
Most countries, including India, the UK, the EU/Schengen area and Australia, use 35 × 45 mm. The US uses 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm). Canada uses 50 × 70 mm. Pick yours from the list and the tool crops to exactly that.
Does it make the background white?
It does not remove or replace the background. If you photographed a plain, evenly lit pale wall, the optional “brighten background” step lifts it toward white. For a busy or dark background, retake the photo against a plain light wall.
What resolution is the photo?
300 DPI, the print standard — so a 35 × 45 mm photo comes out 413 × 531 pixels. You can lower the DPI with a custom size if a portal needs a smaller pixel count.
Can I print several photos on one page?
Yes. The print sheet tiles as many copies as fit on 4 × 6, 5 × 7, A4 or Letter paper, with cut marks, as a PDF. Print it at 100% / actual size.
My exam form has a KB limit — does this handle that?
This tool sizes the photo correctly; use the Image Resizer afterwards to bring the file under a specific KB limit like 20 KB or 50 KB.
