PDF Tools

The PDF jobs that come up constantly — combining files, pulling out a few pages, shrinking a file under an email attachment limit, or turning a batch of photos into one document — without installing desktop software or trusting a random upload site.

PDF Toolkit covers the core editing jobs in one place: Merge combines multiple PDFs into one, Split extracts specific pages or ranges, Edit adds text, highlights, and annotations on top of the existing page, and Rotate/Organize fixes page order and orientation. PDF Compressor targets an exact output size — useful when an email attachment limit or a government portal rejects anything over a set KB or MB. JPG to PDF (and its PNG/HEIC variants) turns a batch of photos into a single, correctly ordered PDF document.

All of it runs client-side using PDF libraries in your browser. A PDF full of tax documents, medical records, or contracts is processed on your own device and never uploaded — which matters, because most free online PDF tools are built around exactly the opposite: uploading your file to their server to process it.

The tools are built around real searches — "merge pdf", "compress pdf to 100kb", "jpg to pdf", "rotate pdf" — rather than one generic "PDF editor" that makes you hunt for the specific function you need.

What you can use it for

  • Combine multiple scanned pages or documents into one PDF
  • Pull a few specific pages out of a longer PDF as their own file
  • Shrink a PDF to fit under an email or upload size limit (100KB to 2MB targets)
  • Fix upside-down or sideways pages after a scan
  • Turn a folder of photos of documents into one properly ordered PDF

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Every PDF Toolkit and PDF Compressor operation runs in your browser using JavaScript PDF libraries — your file never leaves your device. This matters for anything sensitive: tax forms, contracts, ID scans, medical records.

Can I edit the actual text already in a PDF?

The Edit tool adds new text, highlights, and markup on top of a page — it doesn't rewrite existing text embedded in the PDF. True content editing of the original text needs a full PDF authoring tool. White-out draws an opaque box over content; it doesn't remove the underlying text, so it isn't secure redaction.

Is there a file size limit?

Processing happens in your browser's memory, so very large files (hundreds of MB) can be slow or hit your device's memory limits — but there's no artificial cap imposed by the tool itself, unlike sites that limit free users to a handful of MB.

Can I open a password-protected PDF?

Not currently — encrypted PDFs are detected and rejected with a clear message rather than producing a broken result, but there's no way yet to enter a password to unlock one.
