About Passport Photo Maker

Crop a photo to the 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm) square used by US passports, green cards and most US visas. Guides show the 1–1⅜ inch head-size range; the export is 600 × 600 pixels at 300 DPI.

A US passport photo is 2 × 2 inches with the head between 1 inch and 1⅜ inches (25–35 mm) from chin to crown and the eyes roughly 1⅛ to 1⅜ inches from the bottom. This tool sets the square crop and shows head guides; export is 600 × 600 pixels at 300 DPI.

It does not replace the background — the US requires plain white or off-white, so photograph a plain wall and use the optional brighten step. The photo is cropped locally and never uploaded. Build a print sheet to get several 2 × 2 photos on one 4 × 6 print.

What you can use it for

  • Make a 2 × 2 photo for a US passport or passport renewal.
  • Prepare a green card (Form I-485) or US visa photo.
  • Print a 4 × 6 with multiple 2 × 2 photos for a passport shop or home printer.
